FLOWER BEDS IN HOLLAND

Flower Beds in Holland by Vincent van Gogh was painted by the Dutch painter early on in his life as an artist in 1883. The painting is an oil on canvas that was painted by van gogh in Holland.

Note the cloudy, dismal sky in the background which is vastly different from Van Gogh`s later works which usually had a bright sky with a radiant sun.

You can see how Van Gogh has composed this painting to give the appearance of a very sharp rise from the front of the painting across the fields to the horizon at the back of the painting. Vincent uses strong colours to show us the different flower beds in the painting.
