Les Arčnes is an oil on canvas painting by Vincent van Gogh.
Vincent painted Les Arčnes during his time in Arles in 1888.
Van Gogh did the painting at a time when Paul Gauguin was living with him.
Gauguin had encouraged Vincent to work in the studio from memory, and Les Arčnes was painted in this way.
It may be that Van Gogh never actually finished the painting as the paint is applied very thinly.
There are also bare patches.
It is interesting that only a few weeks after doing this painting Van Gogh cut off one of his ears.
