MULBERRY TREE

Mulberry Tree by Vincent van Gogh is an oil on canvas painting that the artist completed during his stay in Saint-Rémy in October, 1889.

Vincent had done a number of Mulberry Tree paintings, but he felt this was his best work. Van Gogh used strong colours and applied the paint in very thick tones to gave the painting a three dimensional feel.

A lone Mulberry Tree with a knotty trunk and brilliant yellow and orange leaves set against a powerful blue sky.
