Still Life of Shoes by Vincent van Gogh is an oil on canvas painting done by the artist in 1886.

Still Life of Shoes is vastly different from the later works of Vincent in that he still uses the more somber colours, unlike later when he used the more vibrant colours which were popular at that time. It was said that Van Gogh had purchased the shoes at a flea market. But after discovering that they were still a bit on the new side, Vincent took them for a long walk in the rain to make them look more worn.

Van Gogh did a number of paintings of shoes during his life.
