Vase with Oleanders and Books was painted in 1888 in Arles by the Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh.

Vincent loved oleanders and he showed his affection for these flowers here in this beautiful painting.

Van Gogh did not do a lot of still life paintings. This oil on canvas painting was done in great detail by Vincent. The oleanders are in an attractive vase on a simple wooden table. On the corner of the table are two books. The oleanders sit against a stunning green background that highlights the flowers.
