WHEATFIELD AND MOUNTAINS

Wheatfield and Mountains by Vincent van Gogh is an oil on canvas that was painted by the Dutch artist in 1889.

Vincent loved the outdoors and we can see this affection here in the painting, Wheatfield and Mountains. Van Gogh also had a strong admiration of the people who worked the land, but strangely we don`t see any of those workers here in the wheatfields. Possibly Van Gogh wanted us to focus more on mother nature.

The blue sky is also almost hidden behind a cloud. Vincent suffered from many emotional problems and the cloudy sky and the lack of people may indicate he has having a difficult day. The wheatfields seem to be turbulent. The mountains in the distance are towering up into the sky.
