WHEATFIELD UNDER A CLOUDY SKY

Wheatfield under a Cloudy Sky is an oil on canvas painting that was painted by the Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh during the last year of his life in 1890.

It was one of the last works of Vincent and its unusual in its a elongated canvas. Van Gogh painted, Wheatfield under a Cloudy Sky, a few days before he died in Auvers.

Notice the loneliness in this painting. Vincent has used dynamic and unrestricted brushstrokes. An array of vibrant greens and blues. Unlike in other paintings of Van Gogh where the Sun was dominant, here it is hidden behind the clouds.
